Motivation for All Business Pros
Positive Mental Energy
You wake up and almost immediately begin dreading your day. You have a load of work at the office and a meeting scheduled with someone you'd rather avoid. You have so much to do you feel you can never get all of your work done. You believe things will never change and will constantly be stressed. How many of these thoughts and emotions have you had before you climb out of bed? At a time when you're supposed to be rested and ready to hit the ground running, you've already begun spending precious mental energy and your day has barely started.
Instead, choose to use mental energy positively. Refuse to let negative thinking enter your mind. When negative thoughts enter your mind, push them out. You can train yourself to do so. Instead of saying, "I'll never get all of this done," say, "I've got a lot I'm going to do today." "I can handle that tough client."
Positive mental energy does not mean you should think unrealistically or revert into denial. Just don't dwell on the negative. If you do, it will empower the problem or even the person. If you must deal with a difficult personality type, find one thing that's good about them and focus on that. If you don't, they will steal your positive mental energy.
Focus on what's good in the workplace and in your personal life. When you do, the good will grow bigger. So will your heart.
