Smaller freight forwarders thrive: freight conference organiser

INDEPENDENT freight forwarder networks are thriving due to their flexibility, personal service and responsiveness, and according to logistics industry veteran Mark Millar, they are coping better than many larger outfits in the wake of the financial crisis.

"The independent freight forwarders provide value through their flexibility and personal service. They combine agility and responsiveness to create innovative solutions for moving cargo. Through membership of the freight networks, the independent forwarders are able to offer global services without the need for large overhead infrastructure, resulting in cost-effective international shipments for their customers," said Mr Millar, speaking ahead of the Freight Summit in Macau.
Mr Millar will be moderating The Freight Summit when 600 delegates are expected to attend the event at The Venetian Macau from September 21-26, 2010.
The Freight Summit aims to provide a forum for logistics experts and technology providers to offer services, share their experiences and give advice in order to support the independent freight forwarding community.
